We are very proud of Yaralla Wallace and what he is achieving for the Cantaur Park & Lamont Stud Droughtmasters. This is part of an article from the Queensland Country Life.
A Droughtmaster bull purchased at the 2019 Droughtmaster National Sale for $50,000, registered the most progeny for the breed in the last two years, with 95 recorded calves.
The McKenzie family, Yaralla stud, Blackwater, sold Yaralla Wallace to Mac and Gayle Shann, Lamont stud, Cantaur Park, Clermont.
The Shanns said Yaralla Wallace had hit the ground running, producing “great females and big, growthy bulls”.
“(Yaralla Wallace) has been such a fertile, dominant sire for us producing not only some outstanding bulls, but so many beautiful, soft, feminine females that are so incredibly fertile,” Mrs Shann said.
“He is a powerhouse of a bull at full maturity weighing in at 1100 kilograms off grass.
“He knows he’s the boss of his cows and he is a work machine going from cow to cow despite the season, hence his incredible stats with progeny each year.”
Since 2019, Yaralla Wallace recorded 175 registered progeny.
This year the Shanns sold Lamont Woodstock, a son of Yaralla Wallace, for $32,000 to the McKenzie family’s Yaralla stud.
